For some, it has been a family tradition to watch the beautiful fireworks display every fourth of July. Prospect Boomsday Celebration

The parade begins 6 p.m. at Westover Drive ending at the park. After the parade bouncy houses, climbing walls, a bungee run, obstacle courses, wet and dry slides, games, concessions, trackless train and food trucks from Red Top, Gourmet Hot Dogs, Moe’s BBQ, Zoom Zoom Yum, and Kona Ice.

This year, the tour highlights the Toonerville neighborhood, which encompasses 1st, Floyd, and Brook Streets. This neighborhood association takes its whimsical name from the Toonerville Trolley comic strip, based on the short Brook Street trolley that ran from 1915 until 1930. “Memorial Day Weekend on the Farm,” featuring an 1850s hay press demonstration, will be offered at O’Bannon Woods State Park. The family-friendly event takes place at the Hickory Hollow Nature Center in the state park, which is west of Corydon.
