Summer is almost here and we can tell because it's getting warmer every day. I know kids are more excited to spend their summer by the beach, or, by the water park, and they are probably vocal and won't stop talking about their awesome plan for the family this summer.

If you are done with your spring cleaning, which I hope you guys are, then, transitioning your home to a summer haven will be a breeze. Just a few changes here and there and you are all set even before we officially start the summer season.

Here is our list of 2016 Summer Interior Design Trends to Watch Out For.

1. Nature and Geometric Prints

The spring trend from this year is about patterns and Pantone colors. For this summer of 2016, the trend is going big and bold with colors, nature, geometric patterns are in. Check out www.hendersonwheel.com www.aliexpress.comwww.etsy.comwww.ikea.com for their latest collection.

2. Scandinavian Style

As per www.impressiveinteriordesign.com, the key principle is prioritizing function versus aesthetic. Less is more and using the best center pieces there is to make up the room.  That would mean decluttering and organizing your home to give you more room and airy feeling to save some bucks on our utility bills this summer.

3. Eco- Friendly Designs

According to blog.photowall.co.uk, there is a noticeable shift towards eco-friendly interior designs, woven recycled woods turned into a piece of art, furniture, and home accessory that we find really adorable and perfect for that summer look. The furniture may be a bit pricey especially if it's a designer piece. The ANTIBES RATTAN CHANDELIER by Currey & Co. selling price is $2,310. However, if you have the budget allotted for redesigning your home visit their website at www.curreycodealers.com, also, visit www.palecek.com, for more options. Make sure to check out www.Ikea.com, or www.ebay.com for a cheaper version.

4. Metal Accents

Metal accents are probably optional and depending on the look that you are going for. Although, according to www.livspace.com, there is an emerging trend for using metallic pieces like gold, copper, steel, chrome, etc. seen being used by designers as a decorating accessory. 5. Create a Fluid Space

According to www.livspace.com,  that this summer season, we will be seeing a lot of mixed spaces like the outdoors being combined with the indoors. It's a popular contemporary and modern trend that can be achieved by using a large front opening, plants and water features inside the house to create enriching spaces.
