Easter Sunday came early this year and of course, the easter egg hunt awaits! March 27th is the official celebration, however, I am including the Saturday events so that kids can get more easter eggs.

I can still remember my first easter egg. It was made of ceramic with a candy inside, you have to break it before you get the candies. Now that I think about it, it was a total waste of a cute easter egg. I was so amazed at my first easter egg, it was different from the usual egg that I always see in our fridge. Lol! Yes, I broke it and found the candies inside...

However, before I list the events around Louisville for Easter Sunday, I am including a bit of history of Easter Sunday and how the bunny became part of it. I'll let you watch it instead of me discussing it here ( to prevent you from snoozing as well).

EGGSTRAVAGANZA

Address: Louisville Zoo1100 Trevilian Way, Louisville, KY 40213

The Louisville Zoo is hosting an egg hunt for children ages 12 and under – free with Zoo admission. Most events take place at the Metazoa hillside.  Space for egg hunts is limited and open on a first-come, first served basis.

As part of the Zoo’s conservation mission, families must bring their own egg hunt basket or reusable bag. For the health and well-being of zoo animals, candy will not be placed inside the eggs. Participants will turn in the collected eggs and receive a treat bag from the prize booth at the end of each egg hunt. Every treat bag is equal no matter the quantity of eggs collected. Each egg hunt features two golden eggs. A special treat will be awarded to the participants who find these gilded eggs. Read more at https://louisvillezoo.org
