An Indianapolis Halloween 2015

An Indianapolis Halloween 2015

Family Friendly

Indy’s interactive history park welcomes you to “Conner Scairie” for their Halloween festivities. Connor Prairie has been taken over by friendly ghosts and ghouls - as well as the newly elected mayor, the Headless Horseman. Families can take part in a haunted hayride, costume contest, and Scary-o-ke, where they can put their vocal cords to the test. Magic shows and the returning favorite marionette show, Legend of Sleepy Hollow, round out the list for this frighteningly fun family event!
Indiana’s beautiful fall weather sets the perfect backdrop for the Indianapolis Zoo’s annual Halloween ZooBoo. Animals even get in the holiday spirit with Halloween-themed Dolphin Adventure Shows and the Elephant Pumpkin Smash. The Zoo will be decked out in its Halloween best, providing plenty of photo opportunities for families. Children are encouraged to wear a costume and bring a reusable bag to collect some Halloween goodies.

Haunted HouseShiver me timbers! Pirates are swarming and they want revenge! You'll walk the plank and navigate a maze as you journey to the sea on a ghost ship seeking lost treasure. Beware the kraken! There are both friendly and frightening hours for pirates of all ages. There’s even an XTREME SCREAM late-night viewing that offers a whole new level of fright!

Explore downtown Indy’s haunted past with this Halloween ghost tour by Historic Indiana Ghost Walks and Tours. Visitors will explore haunted theaters, businesses, and more as they travel down Meridian Street and through the Wholesale District. Guides will share the stories of a Midwest serial killer, a traveling salesman murderer, gangs of the early 1900s, and ladies of the evening, all of whom have stuck around Indy even after their deaths.

For over 60 years, the Historic Irvington Halloween Festival has united thousands of residents, several neighborhood organizations, and Eastside businesses with their Halloween festivities. The festival spans a week’s time and offers a five-mile run, scholarship pageant, musicians, contests, Halloween-themed movie nights, ghost tours, roller derby, a haunted puppet show, and more. It all culminates Saturday, October 24, with a street fair that features over 170 vendors, live music, and a costume parade.

Truly Frightening

A Halloween haunt for the whole family (provided everyone enjoys a good scare), Slaughterhaus is a nightmare on Post Road. Participants are guided on a disgustingly dismal tour of this enormous 7,000 square foot house with tons of sick and twisted shockers from a depressing beginning to the 'Freaky' end.

Haunted Angelus has been dubbed “Indianapolis’ Scariest Haunted House.”  This scary experience raises money for The Angelus, a cerebral palsy group home in Florida. They offer a wide range of food and drinks, as well as glowsticks to carry through the haunted house.
