1. Broken Beaker Distillery gets geeky on Mass Ave.

Husband and wife team Thomas Wysocki and Heather Finfrock love science. He is a chemist; she an engineer. Together they are opening Indy’s newest craft distillery, complete with nerdy spirits like Pendulum Vodka, Isotope Liqueur and Mitosis Brandy. The new Mass Ave hangout promises educational tours, craft cocktails and casual bites. Status: Opening January.

Jeff Moulton, the arcade guy, and Austin Howard, the beer guy, have teamed up to open an adult-only arcade bar, complete with Ms. Pac-Man, Centipede, Donkey Kong, Frogger and more. The 35+ games will be free play, except for pinball which will cost a quarter. The bar will offer a light food menu and 12 taps with mostly Indiana brews. Status: Opening in early spring.

The brewery launched in 2014 by Josh Hambright, Chris Bly and Jake Koeneman with a unique quest — they brew only using the underused Brettanomyces yeast, or “Brett,” resulting in a rustic, earthier flavor. While the beers have been on tap around town, now you’ll be able to find them at their tap room called The Koelschip. Here they will also serve guests beers, wine and coffee. Status: Opening early 2016.
