7 Coffee Shops Around Indy Minus the "RED CUP"

7 Coffee Shops Around Indy Minus the "RED CUP"

This article I found in Indystar.com caught my attention. It was funny in a way that there is an actual and existing drama with the "red cup." However, my opnion regarding this "red cup" is flat like the surface of a table. I mean, all I  care about is how my coffee tates. Lol!

My opinion doesn't reflect the whole team, but come on! Iit's just a cup..., it's not like they are asking you to sip on their hands, which is by the way impossible. Lol!

So, I decided to share this article to you guys and just in case you are curious what the drama about the red cup is, click on the link http://www.forbes.com. Red cup or not, I'll still love my coffee. Lol!

Foundry Provisions

236 E. 16th St., (317) 543-7357, foundryprovisions.com
Foundry Provisions is a sunny, cheerful spot in an easily walkable and bike-friendly area on the Near Northside. There is fast internet and plenty of space to work, with seating along the windows at the front or more private booths in the back.
Plenty of bright colors, local art on the walls and upbeat indie rock on the speakers all make for a pleasant environment and you’re sure to find others here working during the day.
This is an especially great spot for a working lunch. There are several hot sandwiches and soups on the menu, in addition to the usual coffee and bakery fare. Plus, food is made in-house so it won’t run out after the morning or afternoon rush.
Heads up: Herron High School is just a couple of blocks away, so a flock of high school students flood the place after 4 p.m. on weekdays.
Hours: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.

Thirsty Scholar

111 E. 16th St., (317) 602-3357, thirstyscholar.net
Another Near Northside watering hole, Thirsty Scholar is one of the few spots on our list that has late-night hours and booze. It is fairly quiet during the day, with a good mix of young professionals and college students working solo or in pairs. The decor has a distinct Art Deco vibe, which is a nice break from the rustic-chic look that most coffee shops go for these days.
There is decent wireless and good outlet availability, even at the counter along the front windows. With its front-row view of the neighborhood, that counter is great spot to perch if you enjoy a little people watching while you work.
The bar serves a full range of coffee drinks, and beer and wine for the later crowd. For food, there are a few sub sandwiches and quiches, plus some upscale bar snacks and a few sweets.
Heads up: The seats here aren’t super comfortable for long-term sitting, and it can get loud later in the evening as the bar scene takes over.
Hours: 8 a.m. to 1 a.m. Tuesday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday, 9 a.m. to midnight Sunday, closed Monday.
